Vicki and I get away when we can and if the weather permits, we do it on two wheels.

2008 Key West.  Rode to Mexico Beach day one.  Day two ended on Treasure Island outside Sarasota.  Day three got us to Islamorada.  Total miles down, about 1100.  If you go to the Keys, stay some where in the middle keys.  It costs much less.  Its quiet, laid back, relaxed,... the perfect place to forget work at home.  The food is fabulas and there is no shortage of places to try.  I prefer resturants where you don't have to shout across the table to be heard.   Several had outside seating, right on the water.  Our favorite resturant has to be Lazy Days.  Look it up on the web.  It is worth the trip here.  We tried several different places in the keys but found the best place for us is the Lime Tree Bay Resort in Layton on Islamorada.  The price is right.  We have stayed there for the last few years.

Key West 2008. We made it to the bottom of the states.  Lime Tree Bay Resort A great place to stay.  Key West 2008 sunset

Gatlingurg 2008
This was a really good trip.  We had time to ride all our favorites, the Foothills Parkway, the Tail of the Dragon US129, Hwy 28 to the Fontana Dam, the Cherohala Skyway US143, and the Blue Ridge Parkway from 441 to Ashville.

Lake beside Hwy 129 Auntie Belhams always takes care of us. Their cabins are clean and everything always works.    Deals Gap at the end of the Tail of the Dragon. A good place to get a cold drink and another T-shirt.
Lake Fontana  This is one badass goose. It got between us and our bike and would not let us near it.  I got it to chase me so Vicki could get to the bike. I was laughiing so hard it about caught me. It got pissed when I didn't have anything to feed it.
